Siegfried Labeit at the Faculty for Clinical Medicine Mannheim, University of Heidelberg. The Mannheim University hospital is the largest clinical unit for intensive care at the Heidelberg University with a total of 3500 staff and 5.000 beds. Within the campus, the Labeit group integrate clinical and basic research under the umbrella of the Institute of Anesthesiology and Intensive Operative. Clinical integration is further strengthened by integration into the National heart center of Heidelberg University locally.
